This post is a combined November/December empties post since I didn’t finish many products during November. There’s also a section of the post which aren’t empty products, but they’ve either expired or somehow earned their space in the bin. I was just going to throw them out, but some of them I had never blogged about and wanted to say my piece. This is a fairly makeup heavy post, but there’s also skincare, nail care, and hair care included in there as well.
I’m back with part two of my October Empties, and this time it’s all of the makeup products that I finished or decided to throw out during October. I did some spring cleaning when I organised my makeup storage so a fair few of these aren’t actual empties in the truest sense, but it’s nice to have a chance to do a quick review of things that wouldn’t actually be worth a full post. For some reason it’s mainly face products, probably since I’m so fussy about having them be right for my skin type and colour.
My recently posted some outtakes from her blog photo sessions and I’ve decided to do the same. I take so many more photos than I ever actually use, and some of them are terrible, hilarious and a mixture of the two. I’ll link the actual blog posts also, in case these outtakes inspire you to see them properly. So, without further ado: I was trying to keep my eyes wide open to demonstrate Benefit Roller Lash mascara but instead I just ended up looking very strange. For a long time, I wanted a liquid lipstick that dried matte and was long wearing. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick was regularly recommended but a bit out of my price range. However, this year Mecca Cosmetica, the exclusive New Zealand stockist of Stila reduced their prices – YAY! On my recent trip to Wellington, I discovered that these were only $34, down from $47. For such a good brand, and only about $10 more than similar inferior products like the Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick, it is such a bargain. I purchased one in the shade Aria which is described as a magenta plum but on me it looks closer to burgundy.
