March and April was a bumper month for empties, particularly on the skincare front. Some of that was because I threw out some products that I wasn’t crazy about, and others was because of I have been trying to only use one product from each category at a time. My friend Victoria does that and her good habits have been rubbing off on me and stopping me from turning into someone on Hoarders. This post includes brands such as Simple, Garnier, Neutrogena, Schwarzkopf, Goodness, Palmer’s, La Roche Posay and more!
My skin has never been great, and the last few years that has been particularly true. I’ve been trying every skincare product under the sun, especially because I’m lucky enough to get a lot sent to me, but I haven’t had any great success. Finally, I said enough was enough, and I needed to develop a consistent daily skincare routine. This routine includes products from Skinfood, Trilogy, Cetaphil, La Roche Posay, Antipodes, and Clinique.
My friend Kelsy ordered the Beauty Review March Beauty Box, and I was so interested by her unboxing that she did on twitter, that I asked her to write a guest post about it – Lena. My day today was not amazing. I got to work and was promptly sent home because my back was not behaving like a back should. I spent most of the day in child pose. But I did get up to answer the door for couriers, and one of them brought me the long awaited Beauty Review Beauty Box! I paid $53.95 for a mystery box of 12 full sized products, worth over $236 (including shipping) back in late February. I’ve been waiting patiently (OK – not so patiently) for it to arrive. Beauty Review is a website for New Zealanders to review thousands of different beauty products, as well as get the opportunity to trial products sent out by beauty companies. If you’re not already a member, you should be – go here to register.
Today is 6 months since my first blog post, and I feel like I’ve come SUCH a long way since then. I’ve learned so much about running a blog, taking photos – going from using my phone to using a DSLR, editing photos, and working with some great brands. Without all my amazing readers, this would all be nothing. I love reading comments, and seeing likes and favourites, and hearing from all of you about what you think of my posts. I’ve also made some awesome friends through blogging which I have been so thrilled about. To thank you all for your support, I have a giveaway for you – open internationally. Some of the products have been kindly provided to me by PR companies, others I’ve purchased myself.
Today I’m going to be talking about something a little bit different – a new beauty routine that could potentially save your life. The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) has partnered with Skinfood to create Breast Cream – a product to encourage women to check their breasts as part of their regular beauty routine. It’s a nice nourishing moisturiser, and the idea behind it is that by applying it, women will check their breasts regularly.
