It’s time for another empties post! I didn’t use many products up during January so decided to make it a combined affair with February. Then everything seemed to run out all at once! I’ve been really trying to finish one product before opening another but we all know how hard that is. I have finished skin, hair, body, makeup, and nail items, so at least one from each of the main categories that I blog about. Some are even full size! Now, without further ado, let’s get stuck in. I’ll be linking in the titles to where I have reviewed the products previously.
Another month, another round of empties. I’ve been making a concerted effort to finish products, especially some of my many sample sachets that I’ve been hoarding for years. 13 different products isn’t a bad effort in my book. They were mostly skin and body care products, with a few haircare products, and one makeup item rounding out the group. The brands featured include Paula’s Choice, Neutrogena, Maybelline, Lush, and Vaseline. Let’s crack into it!
This month my empties box actually OVERFLOWED! So, I’ve actually split this post into two – today is skincare, hair, and nail products and later in the week we’ll get to makeup. Some of the things in this post aren’t empties in the true sense of the word, but they are products I’m throwing away, so they count.
This month I have an absolutely bumper empties post, since I tidied my makeup table and did a bit of a clean up of my collection. Many of these aren’t actually empty, but they’re going in the bin all the same so they deserve to be in this post. There are a whopping 25 items, so I won’t be going through all of them individually – I’ll focus on the full size products that I’ve actually finished – so let’s get into it!
After a bumper month of finishing products in July, this month my empties box is looking quite empty! It seems to happen in peaks and troughs of finished products, so perhaps the September edition will be much bigger. During the past months I finished three products, a Paula’s Choice blemish treatment, Lavanilla deodorant, and a sample of Pure Fiji body butter. Read on to see what I thought of these products!
Today I want to sing the praises of the Salux Cloth – this is the ultimate exfoliator! What is a salux cloth, you ask? It’s a nylon bath towel, originating from Japan. It exfoliates your skin and promotes improved blood circulation. Salux cloths create a great lather as well so you don’t need to use much product. It’s kind of similar to the texture of a synthetic bath poof, but it rinses and dries much more easily so it’s more hygienic. I’ve been using it to combat my Keratosis Pilaris (‘chicken skin’), and it has done wonders! It’s effective for exfoliating for people without KP as well, so if you want baby smooth skin, keep reading.
This month is the first anniversary of when I started doing empties posts! I went through a bit of a walk down memory lane, revisiting old posts and seeing what I thought of products from months gone by. During July I finished, or decided to throw away, a whopping ten products. The number of products coming in really outweighs those, but let’s not think about that! There are four makeup items, three skincare, one hair care, one nails, and one oral health product, so let’s get cracking with the reviews.
Another month, another empties post! I’ve managed to use up 10 products over the last month – 6 full size, and 4 samples. I’m pretty impressed with it, and it goes to show what not buying new things and focusing on finishing specific products can do. I’ve been enjoying finishing products, and taking the time to write a post and evaluate whether I will purchase them again. Last month I split the post into two, and I considered doing thatagain this month but it just took so long, so this month I am doing them all together and am just going to attempt to be brief – something that is decidedly not easy for me! I’m still on a no-buy, as I detailed in this post, but for the purposes of this post my evaluation of whether I would repurchase a product is as if I could afford to shop – and as if I didn’t have a ridiculous stash of products as it is.
In the early days of my blog, about six months ago, I wrote a post about my skincare routine. In that time, my routine has changed a bit AKA become more complicated so I feel like now is the time to update you all on what I use. This is going to be a long post, so settle in as I go over allll of the skincare I’ve been using in the evening. My products of choice seem to change fairly often, but these have been staples for a while now, and I would recommend them. Of course, everyone’s skin is different, but this is keeping my dry, acne-prone skin in reasonably good shape.
Today my friend Laura from Laura Loves Beauty Blog and I are sharing our five most important beauty products – our absolute favourites that we just couldn’t be without. It was really hard for me to narrow this down, but I eventually managed to get it done, and here they all are. Keep reading to find out why these products are my favourites.
