Winter’s heating up with Karen Murrell Rymba Rhythm lipstick

The weather might be cold outside, but my new lipstick from Karen Murrell is heating things up! Bare PR very kindly sent me her latest release, Rymba Rhythm. “Rymba Rhythm is my tribute colour to love and passion. It is designed for anyone looking to turn up the heat in their life!” Karen Murrell, Creative Director, Karen Murrell Lipsticks Reow – I was pretty excited to get this on my lips! Karen Murrell is a brand which is very focused about things being natural. Often, brands will say things like that and it turns out to be a bit of a stretch, or not much more than a marketing claim. However, these lipsticks are actually quite natural – there aren’t any artificial colours or fragrances. The only thing that I’m concerned about is the fact it doesn’t have any preservatives – I’m worried that perhaps this lipstick will go off quickly, but I suppose I will have to see how it lasts. Karen Murrell lipsticks aren’t tested on animals, which is something that is becoming more important to me. They are ‘vegetarian lipsticks’ – not vegan, as they do include beeswax. The full ingredients list is available on KarenMurrell.com As you can see in […]

What’s in my bag

I have to admit, I’m a bit of a nosy person. It’s not a very good habit, so I try to refrain from doing it most of the time. One thing I love on blogs or youtube videos is when people show us what’s in their bag. It’s like I’m being nosy, but they’re actually showing me! So, I’ve decided to show you all what lives in my bag. I’ll focus mainly on the beauty products but I’ll show you the rest of what I haul around with me too. To start off with, here is the bag itself. I got it in the Boxing Day sales last year, and it’s great. Big enough to carry what I need, but not so big that I make it ridiculously heavy. Here is everything that’s in my bag, and it shows pretty much everything that I usually carry. Not shown are my glasses because they were on my face, or my work phone because I don’t carry it in the weekend. I have other things from time to time, like my Kindle, or something I’m knitting, but this stuff is mainly the essentials. I have my gorgeous wallet from Collette, another Boxing Day […]

Quick, easy make up for work

I’m going to be honest with you, dear readers. Despite being quite vain, I’m also incredibly lazy. This causes a bit of a conundrum for me on weekdays – I have to leave the house by 7:30am, and I also love to sleep in and eat breakfast while staring blearily at my twitter feed. A lot of the time I do just go to work barefaced, but sometimes I like to make the effort to get made up. In this post I’m going to demonstrate two of my go-to lazy girl’s work make up looks, for days where I want to wear make up but have minimal time. I apologise in advance for the photos, the lighting situation is not ideal at that time of day! Both of them start with me doing my usual base routine as seen here. Sometimes I use a BB cream instead but currently I’m too dark for my garnier one and too light for my Maybelline one, so foundation it is! I also always fill in my brows, using one of the techniques I outlined in my previous post on eyebrows. Look number one is almost no-make up make up, with the exception of the […]
