MAC Good Luck Trolls Collection - Lena Talks Beauty

MAC Good Luck Trolls makeup look

MAC Good Luck Trolls is a limited edition collection that came out recently, and I’ve had some great fun trying out the products that MAC Cosmetics sent to me. The range of colours are rather unusual, and rather than trying to work them into some ‘everyday’ makeup looks I decided to go all out with them. This isn’t so much a makeup tutorial, more a look into the sort of madness a beauty blogger gets up to with fun new products, so I hope you enjoy!

MAC Flamingo Park Collection

MAC Flamingo Park collection

Flamingo Park is the newest limited edition collection from MAC Cosmetics, and it is delightfully bright. As you may have seen on my social media, I was sent a lipstick, beauty powder, and lip gloss from this beautiful collection and today I’ll be reviewing them for you. “Plunge into the punchy pleasures of pink in a freshly made batch of scrumptious colours that let you have your cake, and wear it too. Glisten pretty on a sunny day with Powder Blush, a fun way to bring delicious colour to your cheeks. Paint it pink and get your just desserts anytime, but be ready to share!”

MAC Faerie Whispers Collection

MAC Cosmetics have kicked off 2016 with their new Faerie Whispers limited edition collection, and I have been sent some of their products to review for you all! “Let your innocence roam free. Transcend seasons with charmed hues inspired by the secret wondrous world of fairies. Eyes flutter impishly in new Foiled Shadows, in luminous wet or dry shades that flicker like morning mist. Feathery pinks for cheeks brighten the day, imbuing you with a spritely glow. Case a spell with rosy metallics for nails and pearl-lit nudes for lips, spinning glamour ‘til the moon turns to sun.” Keep reading for a closer look at the products that I’ve been sent, and my thoughts on each of them.

MAC Enchanted Eve Cool Palette - Lena Talks Beauty

MAC Enchanted Eve Face Palette

MAC Cosmetics have released two Face Palettes as part of their Enchanted Eve holiday collection this year. One is cool, and one is wam, and I was sent the cool version of the palette as you may have seen in my post showing an overview of the 2015 MAC Holiday collections. I have done my best to do an entire face of makeup using the palette. Obviously it doesn’t include some products like foundation or mascara, but almost everything else on my face is from this palette. It goes to show how well coordinated the different product are, since they come together so nicely. The Enchanted Eve palette comes in a sturdy case, with bright acrylic across the front the kits in with the colour scheme of the wider MAC Holiday collections this year.

MAC Vamplify Collection - Lena Talks Beauty

MAC Vamplify

The latest collection from MAC Cosmetics is Vamplify – a collection of strongly pigmented, long wearing lip glosses, and lip pencils. “Be seduced by our most dramatic lip gloss yet. Loaded with high-powered pigments that hug lips in shades that glisten with a delicious shine, one swipe loads lips with attitude as a combination of lush natural oils polish with impeccable, moisturizing colour. Never a tease, the glossy colour wears comfortably for hours, for a look that comes on strong and doesn’t let go.” I was excited to receive two of these Vamplify glosses from MAC Cosmetics, and I have swatches, pictures of them on my face and full review, so read on!

MAC Haute Dogs Collection

MAC Haute Dogs Collection

The newest collection from MAC Cosmetics is inspired by dogs – that’s a sentence that I never thought I would write! Here is what they said about the new limited edition Haute Dogs collection: “(Wo)man’s best friend is barking up the right tree in a well-groomed collection of new canine-inspired hues from M·A·C, featuring luscious, buttery fur tones, gold-spun sculpting powders, and regal berries for lips.” I am actually scared of dogs, and was seriously phobic of them as a child, but you know what? I can get on board with this collection because I love MAC, and I love these colours! MAC have sent me two products for review – the Lap Dog Mineralise Lipglass, and Pure Bred Mineralise Eyeshadow quad.

MAC is Beauty

On Monday, the latest limited edition collection from MAC was launched in New Zealand. MAC is Beauty is about old-style glamour, inspired by fifties and sixties beauty parlours. Last week I attended the launch event, and had some of the products from the collection applied by one of their wonderful makeup artists. MAC also gifted me some of the collection which I’ve been trying out for myself, as you will see later in the post.

MAC Toledo Collection

MAC Toledo Collection

I am very excited to share with you some of the lip products from the MAC Toledo Collection. This is a limited edition range released in collaboration with Isabel and Ruben Toledo, who are renowned for their fashion design and illustration work. MAC Cosmetics have sent me the Oxblood Lipglass, as well as the Tenor Voice and Sin Lipsticks, and I have swatches and photos of all of them in use. I’ll also be sharing some pictures of other products that I’m lusting over from the Toledo collection.

MAC Victorian Plum Pressed Pigment and Zen Rose lipstick

Recently I had some vouchers, and decided to spoil myself with some products from MAC. I went in there planning on buying Rebel and Heroine lipsticks, but with help from a lovely makeup artist I ended up with two completely different but equally beautiful products. I bought a Pressed Pigment in the shade Victorian Plum from the Heirloom Mix limited edition collection, and a Sheen Supreme Lipstick in the shade Zen Rose.

MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga

I have been a huge fan of Lady Gaga for years now, but I’ve only really been into makeup for a couple of years. That’s why I had no idea that in 2010 Lady Gaga had collaborated with MAC to produce a lipstick for their Viva Glam range. All the money from sales of Viva Glam lipsticks goes to the MAC AIDS fund, which supports organisations for people with HIV/AIDS. This is a great scheme, with 100% of the sale price going to the charity, as opposed to a dollar or two which most charitable cosmetics offers seem to be. Recently my friend Kalliana of 9 to 5 Nails decided to accept that this just didn’t suit her, to my good fortune!
