My recently posted some outtakes from her blog photo sessions and I’ve decided to do the same. I take so many more photos than I ever actually use, and some of them are terrible, hilarious and a mixture of the two. I’ll link the actual blog posts also, in case these outtakes inspire you to see them properly. So, without further ado: I was trying to keep my eyes wide open to demonstrate Benefit Roller Lash mascara but instead I just ended up looking very strange. Last weekend, my friend Jordanne from Jordanne Leigh and I played makeup artist for the day, and did each other’s makeup. It was a great afternoon, with many cups of tea consumed, me cuddling her baby extensively, and then we got down to business. I really enjoyed being able to see all of her products, many of which I had never tried before. I’ve done other people’s makeup on a handful of occasions, but it’s always a challenge. Here is the beautiful finished result, and then I’ll go through what I used and how I applied it, to get the look that Jordanne is wearing.
Back in January, I bought Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade L.U.V. It’s a rich violet shade, and I hadn’t been brave enough to actually wear it until quite recently. Purple lipstick has become more popular in recent years, and I see people wearing it all over beauty blogs and forums, but I don’t often see people actually wearing it in person. However, last week I finally gathered the nerve to wear it out, and this post is the result of that! I’ll be sharing my thoughts on its performance, and whether I am in LUV with it or not.
