The Christmas season is fast approaching, and whilst some people have been shopping for months, others (me) leave it a bit later. The same goes for my gift guides – better late than never! I don’t typically write gift guides, because I find it hard enough to buy for my friends and family, let alone make suggestions for other people. However, I’ve been sent a number of press releases about some cool Christmas gift sets that I wanted to draw people’s attention to. Either you can buy them as gifts, or you can use this as a guide to shopping for yourself. The brands included in this post are MAC Cosmetics, Real Techniques, and Benefit Cosmetics – keep reading for more information.
One of my favourite online shopping websites is iHerb.com, and today I’m sharing my latest haul. iHerb sells a lot of natural food and healthcare products, but the main thing I buy from there is beauty products (of course!). This most recent order is more about the tools, rather than cosmetics, although one little item of makeup hopped into my cart. In this post I’ve shared my first impressions of two Bdellium Tools makeup brushes, an EcoTools hairbrush, and a Honeybee Gardens lip liner.
I know, it’s the middle of December and I’m writing about the beauty products that I used up in November. Better late than never, right? I finished up quite a few different products – hair care, skincare, makeup, and body. That was a mixture of full sized, and samples, and overall I’m feeling quite accomplished. By the way, when I say ‘repurchase’, some of them I didn’t actually purchase but got sent from brands, or got samples at counter but my evaluation remains the same – would I spend my money on them in the future. Right, now let’s get on with the reviews!
Eyeshadow application is something that I’m always trying to improve on, and good brushes seem to be a key component for that. I have heard that Bdellium Tools make great brushes so I ordered some from iHerb.com. They are the 778 Large Shadow brush, 763 Angled Brow Brush, and 766 Angled Shadow brush and in this post I’ll be showing how they look, and reviewing how well they perform.
Time has come for me to do another iHerb wishlist post! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this great site, iHerb is a US-based online store that sells a variety of products – from makeup, to skincare, as well as snacks, and supplements too. It caters to many of my interests for this reason, and I shop on there fairly regularly. This post contains affiliate links, but I shopped on iHerb long before I earned affiliate credit, and would link to it regardless. All prices in this post are in USD, as that is how iHerb list their prices, and it’s easy for people to convert into whatever currency they use, as I have readers all around the world. I’ve got a mixture of items in here, from skincare, to makeup, to tea! MADRE LABS, HAND CREAM, WITH ARGAN NUT OIL, $4.95 The first thing in my cart that I am definitely buying is the Madre Labs hand cream with Argan oil. I have bought this previously and used it up – even cutting the top off the tube to get it all out as you can see in this empties post. It’s so nice for the dry skin I […]
A next generation of cosmetic sponges have come around in the last few years, starting with the Beauty Blender which has lead to a number of ‘dupes’ or similar sponges being released. I have bought the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, which is a ‘3-in-1 multi-functional complexion sponge’. It has three different surfaces which have different functions, and they are all used to give your foundation a flawless finish.
