Hair straightening brushes have burst onto the scene over the last year or so, and they’re something I’ve been quite interested in. My hair is very thick – every hairdresser ever exclaims over it – so I don’t often straighten my hair. I have a pair of hair straighteners but I got them for my 16th birthday so they’re a bit behind the times with technological innovations. I love how my hair looks straight, it just takes far too long for my liking. THEN I was given the opportunity to try the new Remington Keratin & Argan Oil Nourish Straightening Brush *. So of course I jumped at the offer. Straight hair in less time? Sign me up! Keep reading to see pictures of the brush, the results and read my thoughts.
Whenever I go to the hairdresser, they always exclaim “gosh you’ve got so much hair! wow, you have such thick hair!” I have always had a lot of thick hair, which is great, but with that comes a propensity towards frizziness. I have spent my life in pursuit of the holy grail product that will make my hair a little bit less “Hermione”, seeing as I don’t seem to have magic powers, much to my disappointment. To further complicate matters, I colour my hair blonde which can cause a little bit of damage and therefore, more frizziness. Then I was sent the Pureology Smooth Perfection hair care system, and that magical moment may have come through at last. I have trialed four products from this range, and have written a full review of it all.
Lush is always a fun store to visit, with so many interesting products. I recently made a trip into the city to stock up on Snow Fairy shower gel, and whilst I was there I discovered their hot oil hair treatments. They come in a solid bar and you mix them up to use at home, which sounded like fun to me. There are three different types, for different hair conditions – Tangled, Kinky, and Damaged (you can make your own jokes here). I chose Tangled, becase in recent months my hair has been a nightmare to brush, even with my beloved Tangle Teezer. Read on for more information about how to use the Lush Tangled Hot Oil Treatment, as well as my thoughts on how it worked.
Olaplex has been the talk of the hair world for the last couple of years, it’s been proclaimed as hair magic. It’s what let Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner go from brunette to blonde in one day with minimal damage. I had Olaplex used in my last hair colouring session, and now I’m here to discuss the big question. Is Olaplex worth the hype? I’ve also done some research about what Olaplex is, and how it works, since it is a bit confusing.
Good Luck Trolls is MAC Cosmetics’ newest limited edition collection and it has filled me with glee. The packaging is bright, as are the colours contained inside. This post isn’t a full review as I only received my press samples a few days before the collection came out, but I wanted to give you all a look at what the collection is like – so you know to head to your local counters! I’ve also included pricing and store availability for MAC in New Zealand, since this information can be hard for us to find. “Hair we go! The wild-haired dolls of your youth bring their rainbow tufts, bejewelled bellies and lucky charms to M·A·C Good Luck Trolls – a crazy-hued collection as silly as the creatures themselves. From Lipglass in Bubble Butt to Eye Shadow in Suns Out, Buns Out and Beauty Powder in Glo Rida…being a troll has never been so glamorous!”
Ever since I drastically lightened my hair, it has been needing a bit of extra help with hydration to return it to its former glory. So, I wanted to share my thoughts on the three different hair treatments I have been using lately. They are the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco intensive treatment (formerly Organix), Sebastian Professional Hydre Treatment, and Lush Jasmine & Henna Fluff-Eaze Hair Treatment – so at three varying price points, and made of different ingredients. Keep reading to see how I use them, and what I like about them.
Hey there readers! My name is Leah, and I’m a wedding blogger over at Rosemary & Twine. I’m super excited to share a little “how to” with you today! I’ll be showing and telling you how to use velcro rollers to curl your hair. Curling your hair often involves a lot of heat, but this is a no-heat curls method that is a classic for a reason.
Last weekend, I went for a haircut which is a pretty routine activity for me. I went to the same salon I’ve been going to for like five years, and although the hairdresser I’ve been seeing recently was away on holiday, I thought it would be fine to see someone else there since I’ve always loved my hair I’ve had done there. WHAT A CRUCIAL MISTAKE. I explained to the hairdresser what I wanted, which was a bit shorter, thinned out, and shaped around my face – the same thing I’ve had for ages now. The experience started off well, and the head massage was actually so amazing I texted a friend about it. The haircut seemed like it was going well, nothing to arouse my concerns, until the blowdrying/style part began. I asked for waves…and what I got was the ugliest curls I’ve ever seen. I also realised that my hair was MUCH shorter that I wanted. I was in shock, and I just paid and left before bursting into tears once I got in my car. I rushed home and tried to straighten my hair, and fixed my makeup (although I kept ruining it with tears!). I was […]
Shampoo and Conditioner are products where I like to change it up regularly. I currently have four different pairs in my shower, and the ones I’m talking about today are the OGX Vitamin E Shampoo and OGX Vitamin B5 Conditioner. I was sent these products, along with the OGX B5 Weightless Oil Mist, to share my thoughts with you all. Read on to see what I thought of them!
A little while ago, I received an email from Far Botanicals, asking if I would like to try their handcrafted, silicone-free natural hair serum, Far Botanicals Verde Oil Supreme. I was very interested, as I love using oil in my hair and have ranted about ‘hair oils’ that are mainly silicone many times (including in a blog post). Shortly afterwards, I received this package on my doorstep, all the way from the USA. This is the Far Botancials Verde Oil Supreme 8 scent sampler set, and is made of a blend of botanical ingredients that are good for hair such as Cassia Auriculata, Indian Gooseberry and Bhringraj extract and various oils including Peach kernel oil, tea seed oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil. The eight scents are: Cocoa & Rum, Vanilla Narcotique, Lavender Absolute, Rose Rapture, Temple Hymn, Blood Orange & Patchouli Musk, Lilikoi (Passion Flower), and Low Scent – so it’s more like seven scents plus no scent but lets not be picky here!
