March and April was a bumper month for empties, particularly on the skincare front. Some of that was because I threw out some products that I wasn’t crazy about, and others was because of I have been trying to only use one product from each category at a time. My friend Victoria does that and her good habits have been rubbing off on me and stopping me from turning into someone on Hoarders. This post includes brands such as Simple, Garnier, Neutrogena, Schwarzkopf, Goodness, Palmer’s, La Roche Posay and more!
Microbeads are tiny plastic beads that are used in personal care products, such as facial exfoliators and other body products. Sewage treatment plants are generally not designed to filter out such tiny particles, so they end up polluting waterways. Ever since I learned about the dangers they pose to waterways and the creatures that live in them I have avoided using them in favour of exfoliators without microbeads. Reading ingredient lists to figure out if they contain plastic can be seriously confusing so I’ve done the work for you. In this post I’ve rounded up a list of exfoliators that are free of polluting microbeads. I’ve used these products myself and can recommend using them. Some plastic-free scrubs rely on harsh pieces like shell that end up harming your skin but these are gentle. The brands included are Goodness, Trilogy, Oasis Beauty, Dermalogica, and River Veda. All were provided to me as press samples.
As most of you know, I’m single and dating at the moment. As a ‘typical girl’ it takes me forever, and a million products to get ready for a date. So, in his post I’m going to give you a behind the scenes look into the process of me getting ready for a date! I can do it in a rush, if need be, but I really would rather not. I enjoy the process – I always have music playing and usually have a pre-drink. A fair few of these products I’m using I’ve blogged about before since I like to use my tried-and-trued products, so I’ll link to the reviews where I can. I hope you enjoy this peek into my life…and if you’re the guy I’m dating, stop reading now, it’ll ruin the illusion.
