Lena Talks Beauty empty beauty product review, skincare hair and body products

March +April Empties

March and April  was a bumper month for empties, particularly on the skincare front. Some of that was because I threw out some products that I wasn’t crazy about, and others was because of I have been trying to only use one product from each category at a time. My friend Victoria does that and her good habits have been rubbing off on me and stopping me from turning into someone on Hoarders. This post includes brands such as Simple, Garnier, Neutrogena, Schwarzkopf, Goodness, Palmer’s, La Roche Posay and more!

December Empties

After last month’s epic empties post, I have a significantly emptier empties box for December. At least that means I can actually to do a decent review of each product without my post being thousands of words long! I have 7 items this month, mostly skincare and mostly full sized too which is impressive.

Beauty Review March Beauty Box

My friend Kelsy ordered the Beauty Review March Beauty Box, and I was so interested by her unboxing that she did on twitter, that I asked her to write a guest post about it – Lena. My day today was not amazing. I got to work and was promptly sent home because my back was not behaving like a back should. I spent most of the day in child pose. But I did get up to answer the door for couriers, and one of them brought me the long awaited Beauty Review Beauty Box! I paid $53.95 for a mystery box of 12 full sized products, worth over $236 (including shipping) back in late February. I’ve been waiting patiently (OK – not so patiently) for it to arrive. Beauty Review is a website for New Zealanders to review thousands of different beauty products, as well as get the opportunity to trial products sent out by beauty companies. My evening skincare routine

In the early days of my blog, about six months ago, I wrote a post about my skincare routine. In that time, my routine has changed a bit AKA become more complicated so I feel like now is the time to update you all on what I use. This is going to be a long post, so settle in as I go over allll of the skincare I’ve been using in the evening. My products of choice seem to change fairly often, but these have been staples for a while now, and I would recommend them. Of course, everyone’s skin is different, but this is keeping my dry, acne-prone skin in reasonably good shape.

Product Review: Garnier Moisture Match – Goodbye Dry moisturiser

Garnier NZ has recently launched Moisture Match 24 Hour Hydration Tailor Made moisturisers  which are a “new generation of moisturisers with a variety of sensorial textures, customised to match specific skin needs.” According to their promotional material the five different moisturisers all offer 24 hour hydration to suit your skin. The types are as follows Protect and glow – for normal skin Goodbye Dry – for dry/very dry skin. Start afresh – for normal/dry skin Wake me up – for dull skin Shine be gone – for combination/oily skin Last month Garnier NZ had a contest on their Facebook page  to win of their new moisturisers. I didn’t win a full size, but they did send out samples as a consolation prize which was nice. They have five different types, and according to their quiz I should use Goodbye Dry – for dry/very dry skin. This was correct, I do have dry skin. The quiz/contest has finished on their facebook, but it’s available on Garnier UK’s website. I received 5 sachets, which was great – it meant I was able to properly try out the moisturiser for about a week before reviewing it. When I first opened it I was […]
