MAC Technique – makeup classes and app

MAC Technique classes have been relaunched with a broader range of workshops and seminars. There are now 13 technique focuses, from beauty basics to glam chic. I am a makeup enthusiast but I’ve never really learned how to apply makeup, aside from watching endless tutorials. So, when MAC invited me to attend a MAC Technique workshop I was ecstatic. The topic of the workshop I attended was Sculpt and Shade, and the description is as follows “Proper contouring can completely change the face shape. Learn how to emphasize flattering angles by creating dimension, symmetry and definition through shading and highlighting.” In this post I’ll give you the run down of the whole experience – from booking, to how the class worked.

Benefit Roller Lash mascara

Last week I was invited to the launch of Benefit’s new Roller Lash mascara. It was held at Dry & Tea at City Works Depot, which incidentally was somewhere I had been wanting to go for a while! I headed along with a few blogger friends, and we were all eager to check out what had been a mystery for us until that point. The Benebabes were there, and we got the chance to try out this fab new mascara, as well as lots of the rest of the Benefit Cosmetics range.

XYNZ Beauty Blogging and Makeup Essentials workshop

There have been so many great bloggers events in Auckland lately! One I went to recently was held by XYNZ, an online magazine with a focus on fashion, beauty, lifestyle and music. The event description said “Ever wondered how to get into beauty blogging but not known where to start? Or perhaps you’d like to give your blog a little spicing up? Spend the afternoon developing your beauty blogging skills, learning essential make-up skills and meeting other bloggers”. To that, I said yes!

Brunch Club Festive Feast

Back in May, not long after I had started blogging, I saw Maddy tweet about a Brunch Club for bloggers that she was co-hosting with Laura and Lizzy. I was nervous, but excitedly RSVP-ed yes and headed along to Mezze for brunch one fine Saturday. Soon my nerves melted away! It was great discussing blogging with likeminded people, and the hours passed quickly with chatter and delicious food. I’ve been to most months’ brunches since then and I always look forward to them. They even run great Laptop Club events which are workshops on topics like SEO, and it was incredibly useful for me to attend that. I have made some great friends, who I now spend time with outside Brunch Club and talk to all the time. Part of the reason I started this blog was because a lot of my friends had moved away and I was feeling a bit bored and lonely, so making new friends has been an absolute godsend for me. I truly feel like Brunch Club has changed my life wipes tear. Okay, since I’m getting a bit sentimental now, it’s time to talk about the incredible Festive Feast which I attended over the weekend.
