Something that I like to do from time to time is to take turns with a friend to play makeup artist on each other’s faces. It means we get to hang out, try different makeup products, and have the experience of doing someone else’s makeup which is actually so hard! This time my canvas was the lovely Laura of Laura Laura Blog. We met through the #brunchclub bloggers meet ups that she is an organiser for and now we are really close friends and talk pretty much every day. I loved having the opportunity to use some different makeup products like the Colourpop eyeshadows and her Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Doesn’t Laura look beautiful? (the only acceptable answer is yes). Let’s have a closer look at her makeup I used a mixture of my makeup and her makeup, depending on what I thought would work best/my curiousity. We ended up with quite the makeup carnage on my bed and makeup table The products that I ended up using were the following: Dermalogica HydraBlur Primer Clinique CC cream Rimmel stay matte powder – transparent Collection concealer* Nars Orgasm blush Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette – Busted and Booty call eyeshadows Colourpop […]
This month my empties box actually OVERFLOWED! So, I’ve actually split this post into two – today is skincare, hair, and nail products and later in the week we’ll get to makeup. Some of the things in this post aren’t empties in the true sense of the word, but they are products I’m throwing away, so they count.
The focus on eyebrows as part of your makeup look is currently stronger than it ever has been! Brow-specific cosmetic sales in the USA grew by a whopping 34% during 2014, and I’d wager a bet that growth would have been similar here in New Zealand. I’ve been paying even more attention to how my brows are shaped and filled in, and I know I’m not the only one who obsesses over their brows being on point. A couple of weeks ago I attended an event held by Billion Dollar Brows where we got to meet one of the founders, Natalie Plain. Natalie gave a great talk about the background of the company, as well as about the products in the Billion Dollar Brows range. We were gifted a few different Billion Dollar Brows products, and I’ve been using them over the weeks since. In this post I’ll be showing the new Billion Dollar Brows Mad About Brows palette, and sharing my review of it.
My friend Kelsy ordered the Beauty Review March Beauty Box, and I was so interested by her unboxing that she did on twitter, that I asked her to write a guest post about it – Lena. My day today was not amazing. I got to work and was promptly sent home because my back was not behaving like a back should. I spent most of the day in child pose. But I did get up to answer the door for couriers, and one of them brought me the long awaited Beauty Review Beauty Box! I paid $53.95 for a mystery box of 12 full sized products, worth over $236 (including shipping) back in late February. I’ve been waiting patiently (OK – not so patiently) for it to arrive. Beauty Review is a website for New Zealanders to review thousands of different beauty products, as well as get the opportunity to trial products sent out by beauty companies. If you’re not already a member, you should be – go here to register.
