My recently posted some outtakes from her blog photo sessions and I’ve decided to do the same. I take so many more photos than I ever actually use, and some of them are terrible, hilarious and a mixture of the two. I’ll link the actual blog posts also, in case these outtakes inspire you to see them properly. So, without further ado:
I was trying to keep my eyes wide open to demonstrate Benefit Roller Lash mascara but instead I just ended up looking very strange. For a better version, and a review of the mascara, click here.
The struggle of having good natural light for photos vs squinting in the sun is something I always deal with! This was when I was taking photos of the makeup I wore to the Rimmel London Cleo Model Search – merely as a guest, I wasn’t a contestant. I wrote a full post about it which you can find here
Sometimes I get silly when taking photos for a while, and this is me doing my very best duckface. I’m wearing Kat Von D L.U.V Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, and to date that is the only time I’ve worn it. I really need to be more brave! Full post here.
My brother and I were on our way to a dinner with family friends and I wanted to take a nice selfie. There were about 6 of these where he wouldn’t stop singing along to the radio, while I just sat there with my smile becoming more and more forced…
It took a long time before I learned to take photos with my DSLR without cutting off the top of my head, and this is one of the many many outtakes where my head isn’t properly in the frame. I have a higher success rate now, but I’m very glad we are in a digital age where you can take lots and lots of photos all for free! One day I’ll have a camera with a fold out display screen! This lipstick is Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick – Aria, and the full post is here.
In this photo, I’m attempting to demonstrate how when I use my Real Techniques foundation sponge I swipe some foundation on my face before blending. It kind of looks like I’m doing some terrible contouring or highlighting. For the post about the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, click here.
I wanted to have a lip swatch of this lipstick to post…somewhere… so I took this very glamourous photo in my bathroom, wearing my onesie, and with my glasses on. Sometimes I consider being the type of beauty blogger who doesn’t post pictures of themself, so I could do 100% of my posts in my pjs, but then how would we get great photos like the ones in this post!
This is from my relatively recent post about a product from Schwarzkopf that I’ve been using in my hair. I wanted a picture of me swishing my hair like in an ad, and I have dozens of pictures like this where I just didn’t quite get there. sigh. I guess I’m not meant to be a hair model – or maybe I should blame my photographer! This is the full post.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these outtakes, or at least found them mildly interesting!
