Shampoo and Conditioner are products where I like to change it up regularly. I currently have four different pairs in my shower, and the ones I’m talking about today are the OGX Vitamin E Shampoo and OGX Vitamin B5 Conditioner. I was sent these products, along with the OGX B5 Weightless Oil Mist, to share my thoughts with you all. Read on to see what I thought of them!
OGX Vitamin E Shampoo and OGX Vitamin B5 Conditioner
For starters I’ll say that I’m extremely skeptical of the benefits of applying vitamins topically, and especially in a wash off format. Nonetheless I will review these products on their merits as shampoo and conditioner – it’s not like I can tell at a deep level how my hair is being nourished. I know, I’m sorry, I’m letting you guys down. It can be hard to have much to say about shampoo and conditioner, unless they’re particularly bad. You know what I mean – maybe your hair doesn’t feel clean, or it feels all tangled and dry. Well, I’m pleased to report that this was not the case with these OGX products. I have used them a few times over the last week or so, and my hair has always felt nice afterwards.
I like that these products are healing and moisturising, since my hair can tend towards dryness since I blow dry it most of the time that I wash it. Even without using other products after I use these, my hair feels nice, which is a really good sign.
The OGX Vitamn B5 Weightless Oil Spray instructions say “Spray Weightless Oil evenly onto damp hair then blow dry to infuse it into the hair shaft. Finish by misting all over for optimal shine and hydration”
I was an overconfident user and didn’t read the instructions and just got stuck into drying my hair. However, towards the end of the boring blow drying process I started reading the back of the bottle and realised my error. I stopped what I was doing, sprayed it all over my hair, and finished the blow drying. It made my hair feel glossy and smooth. I normally apply the OGX Macadamia Oil, however the packaging is a pouring format and I always pour too much out and almost make my hair look greasy. The spray means I can be more controlled in my application!
Please ignore my pyjamas, silly face, and ugly curtains – but please pay attention to how luscious my locks are! They are freshly blow dried, after having used all three of these OGX Vitamin products. It was just something I sent to my friends, but I wanted to show a very natural photo of how my hair looked after using them – not a super stylised shoot.
I will warn that this isn’t strictly an oil – like Moroccanoil, and most oil hair products out these days it is primarily silicone based. I use silicone based products in my hair all the time, but I know that some people avoid them because their hair doesn’t go well with them.
