A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about some products I had received from NV Colour, which is a brand new to New Zealand, and I said that I’d have a post up the following week with the rest of the products…well, that didn’t quite happen. HOWEVER, I have been trying them out and today I have a post for you about the NV Colour Felt Tip Eyeliner Pen in the shade Blue Velvet. Blue eyeliner might sound a bit too 80s for you, but I can assure you, this is a very wearable product – read on to see it demonstrated, and I’m sure you’ll agree.
In the photo above, you can hardly see that I’m wearing a dark blue eyeliner, but I think it makes my eyes look much more blue, which is pretty cool. My eyes are semi-hooded, and I like to use coloured eyeliners as an easy way to add some colour without wasting too much time applying eyeshadow that will barely be visible.
As you can see, Blue Velvet is quite a dark blue, nearly navy. I like that it’s different to the typical black but but isn’t too bright, totally suitable for daytime or even office wear. I’m a believer that all makeup should be worn whenever you like really, however I also like to not stand out too much, so there’s a balance that needs to be found. Enough of the philosophising Lena, get back to the makeup!
Felt tip eyeliner pens are such a breeze to use, it’s so easy to create a nice crisp line, and you can simply angle the pen to change how thick of a line you want to make. NV Colour have done a good job at making this, I like how pointed the eyeliner is.
Here’s my full face look, kept pretty neutral aside from the eyeliner – I’m wearing MAC Oxblood Lipglass from the Toledo Collection. I wore this out to lunch with a friend on Saturday, and she liked my eyeliner, so that’s a vote of confidence in my favour. What do you think of this look? Have I convinced you that blue eyeliner is a good look, or not? If not, perhaps the Black Cat or Twilight Purple variants might be up your alley.
NV Colour Felt Tip Eyeliner Pens are $14.00, with NV Colour products being available from Mighty Ape, and selected pharmacies nationwide – let me know in the comments if you want information about stockists in your local area, the list is a bit too long to post.
