Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Cover

Thursday, March 19th 2015 Makeup

The Nude by Nature have long been known for their loose mineral foundation, and it’s a product which I have used and liked. However, one thing I don’t like about loose powder foundations is that they can be incredibly messy to apply, and I undoubtedly end up with some down my front which is not so glamourous. Nude by Nature have added the Pressed Mineral Cover foundation to their range, and I was sent one to review. Unfortunately, the shade wasn’t right to me, so I gave it to my mum to try, and share her thoughts.

This is mum wearing the Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Cover, in the shade medium. She usually wears Revlon Colorstay in 320 True Beige, and I would say in the MAC terminology she’d be around NW30. There are 5 shades in the range – fair, light, light-medium, medium, and dark. It comes in a nice compact, with a mirror on the inside (perfect for touch ups when on the go), and also includes a sponge applicator, which can be stored together with the compact in the fabric bag which comes inside the box. So handy! Mum says that she’s been finding this useful for mornings where you can’t quite be bothered putting on makeup but want to look just a bit more polished, and have an even skin tone – I’m sure most of us can relate to that feeling.

Nude by Nature advertise this as having medium-full coverage, and lightweight semi matte finish which lasts for up to 8 hours. Mum has tried a number of different brands of loose mineral foundation, and she liked that this provides a medium coverage, as most of them only have a light coverage. The coverage is heavier if you apply it with the sponge, and you can achieve a lighter look by using a brush. I would recommend the Eco Tools Kabuki Brush which you can purchase from iherb. Mum has a normal skin type, and she said she thinks if you have dry skin this may sit in any fine lines or wrinkles. I think that if you do have dry skin, a good moisturiser or primer would likely prevent that.

  • I tried this last night for the first time and I’m loving it!

    • It seems like a pretty good product aye – sometimes a quick and easy powder is all you want!

  • Uh. You’re camera is amazing, your mum looks great and this is a great post as always x

  • Wow, your camera is so nice! What one are you using? This looks gorgeous on your mom! I own the loose version and like it but like you said, it’s so messy, I’m keen to try the pressed version now! xx

    • Thanks! This is a Canon EOS 40D, with a 50mm lens – I think the lens is really incredible! A pressed version is just a bit easier and tidier.
