Maybelline Bleached Neons nail polishes

I think bright nails are a summer essential. Maybelline New York must think this too, because they have just added to their Color Show range with four limited edition Bleached Neons nail polishes. Maybelline sent me two of the colours to try, and I have been wearing them over the last week and loving them.

First up I’ll talk about Chic Chartreuse. I thought it was kind of a strange colour at first, I wouldn’t normally have thought to wear a yellow-y green nail polish but it has grown on me during this past week. When I saw one of my friends she said it looked really good with the tan I’ve somehow developed. I found that it required three coats of polish to be fully opaque, and at times could be somewhat streaky but with careful application it looks fabulous.

When I saw Coral Heat, my first thought was

I really love coral, and neon coral just takes it up a notch. It looks fabulous, and I can see myself wearing this all summer long. I’ve got it on my toes currently, and it looks so fresh and summery. I’ve been pairing it with some of the coral lipsticks that I featured in this post.

The other two polishes in the range are Sunflare, an orange colour, and Tropink which is pink, if you couldn’t guess.

Both polishes applied easily – they were neither too runny or too thick, so it was a fairly straightforward process. Lasting time is an important consideration for me with polish, and when paired with Orly Bonder base coat, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat, these polishes lasted for around 5 days before chipping which is what I expect out of most polishes.

Maybelline New York Color Show Limited Edition Bleached Neons have an RRP of $8.49 each and are on Maybelline stands in New Zealand from January. I’m not sure of their availability overseas – I would guess they’re available in Australia because we often have the same product releases as them. If you can find them where you live, then I would recommend picking some up. They’re so cheap too – I have a few from the permanent Color Show range and really like them.
