Another month, another empties post, and this time I’ve finished up some products that I truly loved! I have emptied products from Plantae, OGX, Madre Labs, Dove, Za, Kiehl’s, and XO Beauty. Okay, so one isn’t technically an empty but it’s something I’m throwing out so it counts for this. That’s one haircare item, two skincare, three body, and one makeup tool. Let’s get into it!
Plantae Sea Buckthorn Berry Night Cream
Last year when I got sent this Plantae night cream, I loved it, and I wore it every night. I even blogged about how much I liked it. However, I’m so spoiled with skincare from various brands and I honestly forgot I owned this until I found it when I was moving. It’s quite nice but it’s also (clearly!) a bit forgettable so I’d recommend something cheaper really.
Za Deep Cleansing Oil
I was SO UPSET when I finished the Za cleansing oil. It works so well to melt off all my makeup, and I keep it in the shower and use it almost every night. I wrote a post about how much I liked it last year and I still agree with what I said in that. Cleansing oils are 100000% better than makeup wipes, micellar water, or anything, I adore how well they work for me.
Repurchase? Yes, I fully intend to.
OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5 Conditioner
I’ve been using this OGX conditioner on and off since I was sent it last year, and have always liked how well it worked on me. You can read my full review of the set that I wrote last year OGX products are quite affordable too, so if I hadn’t recently dyed my hair I would probably have repurchased it. However, I’m now using products specifically for my dyed hair so I won’t be buying this in the future. Side note, am I the only one who always finishes conditioner long before the shampoo if you get them in a set?
Repurchase? No, perhaps in the future if it suits my hair.
Madre Labs Unscented Hand Cream
Madre Labs is an in-house brand from iHerb.com, and I have had one of these hand creams at all times since I discovered them. This Madre Labs hand cream is available for as low as 15 cents! Even with how bad the exchange rate is to the US dollar at the moment, that’s an absolute bargain. I always have hand cream in my bag, my desk at work, and on my bedside table, and this is one of my favourites since it sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave my hands greasy.
Repurchase? I already have.
Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve
I’ve really enjoyed using this Kiehl’s Hand Salve. It is quite thick, and is a little bit sticky, but it is absolute magic for dry skin. I often wash my hands a lot at work, working in an urgent care clinic means hand hygiene is a must! Applying this leaves my skin nice and soft. In times of desperation I’ve even applied it to dry spots on my face
Repurchase? I’m bracing myself to check the price first!
Dove Original Antiperspirant deodorant
I always have one of these in my hand bag for those moments where you think you might be getting a bit sweaty unexpectedly. Always handy to have about.
XO Beauty Flat Top Face Brush
Okay, so a brush might not be an ’empty’ technically but it IS something that I’m throwing away. I have loved my XO Beauty flat top brush for the last couple of years but recently a lot of the bristles have been falling out when I’ve been applying foundation and that is not a good look. So, it was time to retire my beloved XO Beauty Kabuki brush. I have a full blog post about it that I wrote a while back, but in short, it’s a really nice brush for applying liquid foundation.
Repurchase? No, I bought the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush from iHerb instead as I had some credit on there.
So there you have it – all of the products I’m binning from May. What do you think of my reviews? Is there anything that you agree or disagree with? Let me know in the comments section.
