I made friends with Jasmin through Twitter, via one of the many chats like #bbloggers or similar – I’m not entirely sure, since it has been a while! She is from England, but mostly grew up in New Zealand so we connected over that. This swap was born when I posted about a new range of Whittaker’s Chocolate, and Jasmin was super keen to try some, and we decided to do a beauty swap as well. I sent her a Chi Chi eyeshadow palette, an Australis lipstick, Ecostore lip balm in addition to the chocolate treats.
This is what I received from Jasmin!
Jasmin sent me a Sleek eye and cheek palette, Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette, Sleek brow kit, Rimmel lipstick, and a Bourjois liquid lipstick! I haven’t had time to use most of these properly yet, but I have my first impressions and observations and I’m sure they’ll feature in full blog posts in the future.
Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3
I had heard about Makeup Revolution’s line of palettes that are meant to dupe Urban Decay’s Naked palettes, so it was cool to get this and based on some quick swatching I did it looks like quite a nice quality. I do already have Naked 3 so I think I’m going to give it to a friend once I’ve finished playing with it a bit more.
Sleek MakeUP Eye and Cheek Palette All Day Soirée 030
Sleek is another brand that I had heard a lot about, and I was super stoked to get this! The packaging is really good, a magnetic closure and even a full sized mirror inside – this is very impressive for such an affordable product. It has two cheek shades, a blush and more of a bronzer/highlighter, as well as four eyeshadows. I’m a bit wary of the orange eyeshadows but you know what, I think I’ll continue to force myself outside of my makeup comfort zone and try them – perhaps in a future blog post.
Sleek MakeUP Brow Kit Light 817
This eyebrow kit looks wonderful, I love that it includes tweezers! So often I will start filling in my brows then realise that I really need to do some plucking (doesn’t everyone?). Having it all together along with a mirror makes it particularly good for travelling or doing makeup on the run.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 07 Nude-ist Matte Finish
We only just got Bourjois in New Zealand, but I’m not sure if we have this product here. I really like the shade of this, and that it has a matte finish, I think it’s going to be a great everyday lipstick for me!
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss 107
This is one of my favourite lipsticks ever, and Jasmin was so right when she thought it would suit me! Since I already have one, I’m going to give this one away. If you would like this lipstick, leave a comment below and a winner will be selected at random – New Zealand entrants only. Entries close Tuesday 14th July, at 11:59pm NZ Time.
I first blogged about this well over a year ago, and I am even wearing it as I write this post!
Jasmin also included some delicious chocolate – a Wispa bar and a Galaxy bar. The Wispa was definitely my favourite, I really liked the texture.
The blogging community is so cool, I love making friends and connections through it. I would definitely recommend Jasmin’s blog – she has some great beauty content, recommended what is now one of my favourite podcasts (Probably Science) , and also has a helpful series about SEO tips for bloggers. Thanks Jasmin!!!
