Hair styling with Schwarzkopf

The lipstick I’m wearing Silly from the MAC is Beauty collection

If you’re following me on social media, (and you should be! Links in the sidebar), you might be aware that I’ve recently had a hair transformation. I had about 15cm cut off, and I also dyed it darker. For the last couple of years I’ve been getting blonde highlights, but I didn’t feel like keeping up with the the expense and inconvenience of the maintenance. It’s been funny seeing peoples’ reactions – people who have know me forever aren’t too fazed by it, a couple of people have said it’s like the old Lena, whereas newer people are like ‘wow it’s so different!!’

Since it’s been shorter, I’ve been wearing it out a lot more as opposed to just twisting it up into a top knot. This meant I’ve started to make use of some styling products, and one of them is the Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultîme biotin+ volume Soufflé* that I was sent. This is a mousse type product that adds body and texture without weighing it down or being sticky.

The Schwarzkopf styliste ULTÎME styling range has been co-created with super model Claudia Schiffer. There are six products in the range, from a sea salt texture spray to a defrizz spray, but the biotin+ volume Soufflé is what appealed to me the most. I have thick hair, and this tames it into a great voluminous mane.

After I brush my hair, I use it by taking a small amount (less is more!), rubbing it between my palms and running it through my hair. You can apply it to the roots, but for me I find it works best by keeping it below my ears. I like how it texturises my hair and calms some of the fly aways that are always apparent the day I wash my hair. I would recommend against using this for multiple days before washing, as it can build up a bit and not feel too nice.

This is about the amount of product that I use

My brother kindly took photos of me for this post – so much easier than using the tripod/remote shutter. I said to him that I wanted a photo of me swishing my hair ‘like they do on the ads’, and here is one of the many that he took. Not quite Claudia Schiffer, but I do think it’s a cool pic!

  • o I will pick some of that up next time I’m at the supermarket – My fav DeLorenzo product was discontinued so I’m on the look out for something fabulous to tame my boffy hair

    • The battle of boofy hair is hard! I also like the Eleven miracle hair thing I put in it when wet, it makes it dry better.

  • Bahaha love the hair toss shot!! I tried the shampoo and conditioner from this line (from Beauty Review actually) and found them just ok. Love a bit of volume though, will keep this in mind.

    • There were so many outtakes from this shoot at it was hilarious. I should do an outtakes post sometime really. I quite liked the shampoo/conditioner from this, I got sample sachets at an event some time.

Love this post, and the new hair is fab. That hair tossing photo is amazing haha!! So great!! I never use hair products and tend to just have it tied up all the time, it would be good to find something to help me control it a little better so i might have to give this a try x

    • There are some hilarious photos from this shoot. I generally tie mine up a lot, but it sort of feels like why bother having long hair if I’m just going to wear it up all the time, so I’ve been trying to wear it out more. Good shampoo/conditioner really help the tame the mane too.
