Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette

Collection Cosmetics is having a massive launch of products this summer, and today I’m sharing with you the Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette. It’s in the vein of Urban Decay’s Naked palettes and other neutral palettes that have been so popular over the last few years, but at a more affordable price point. I was sent this by Collection, and my mum and I have reviewed it for you – read on to find out what we think.

I was impressed with the packaging of the Eyes Uncovered palette, it’s a cardboard palette with a little window through to the shadows. I feel like it looks more expensive than it actually is – I know it’s what’s on the inside that counts but I do like nicely packaged makeup.

It includes a double ended eyeshadow sponge applicator which is handy in a pinch but isn’t something that I would find useful as I prefer to uses brushes. However, my mum  scored this palette off me after I used it to review and has been using the sponge applicator with it, so it depends on your preferences.

The shades in this palette are, from left to right (but bottom to top in the photo below):

Ivory, Mink, Ochre, Golden Brown, Ember, and Nutty

Looking at the Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette it immediately reminded me of my Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay, but without the pink and rose toned colours. Upon further googling it has similarities to all of the Naked palettes which have spawned dozens of copycat palettes. Most of those palettes have 12 shades, and this has 6. I think having a smaller palette is a good idea, who ever would finish an entire 12 shadow palette, certainly not me?! I’d rather spend less and have one palette and actually get good use out of it.

The texture of these shadows is lovely, I found them to have a good colour payoff and no chalkiness. I wore it with a primer or cream eyeshadow base but mum is all about the simple approach to makeup so she doesn’t, and it still wears well on her skin.

I asked mum for some feedback on the palette since she’s been using it for longer than I did and she said “I’ve been using it almost every day since you gave it to me and i love it”. When I asked some more questions she added “it makes my eyes pop, it lasts a long time, I do a swipe + swipe and I look awesome”. She even sent me some selfies of her wearing it and I’d have to say she does look pretty awesome.

I like the selection of shades in this. I bought one of their earlier palettes and have almost used it all up, amazingly enough. I like their lasting perfection concealer, and picked up their contour and highlight kit in the UK last year (nice but not super pigmented). Glad your Mum is enjoying it!

    • Oh wow – that’s an achievement!! I love the lasting perfection concealer too, I use it pretty much every time I do my makeup.

  • I like the idea of a smaller palette – it would take me forever to get through 12 shades (and let’s be honest I’d honest use 4 max). I think it really suits your mum!

    • I use my Naked 3 all the time and it still pretty much looks new! I’m sure I haven’t even used some of them!
