Billion Dollar Brows

The focus on eyebrows as part of your makeup look is currently stronger than it ever has been! Brow-specific cosmetic sales in the USA grew by a whopping 34% during 2014, and I’d wager a bet that growth would have been similar here in New Zealand. I’ve been paying even more attention to how my brows are shaped and filled in, and I know I’m not the only one who obsesses over their brows being on point. A couple of weeks ago I attended an event held by Billion Dollar Brows where we got to meet one of the founders, Natalie Plain. Natalie gave a great talk about the background of the company, as well as about the products in the Billion Dollar Brows range.

We were gifted a few different Billion Dollar Brows products, and I’ve been using them over the weeks since. In this post I’ll be showing the new Billion Dollar Brows Mad About Brows palette, and sharing my review of it.

The Mad About Brows palette features four shades of brow powder, a styling wax, and a mini brow brush with a spoolie on the end. I like the packaging a lot, it looks good quality and seems sturdy, and also includes a mirror which will be perfect for travelling or doing my makeup on the run. The colours are Blonde, Light Brown, Taupe, and Raven which cover a wide range of different brow shades.

To use the Mad About Brows palette, first apply the sculpting wax and then follow with the powder. Finish it off by using the spoolie end of the brush to blend it all together! The beauty of having multiple colours in the palette is that you can use multiple colours to make it perfect for you. It also is useful for those of us who dye our hair, changing your hair colour doesn’t mean you have to go out and get new brow products!

Here I am, having used the Mad About Brows palette on my brows. On the inner brows (closest to my nose) I used the Raven powder as my brows are sparse there, and then I used the Taupe powder out towards the tail of the brows. Using the spoolie end to blend it all together means my brows look even toned and natural.

I’m totally mad about brows, as shown in this silly photo I took while shooting for this post!

Using Billion Dollar Brows Mad About Brows palette

The Billion Dollar Brows Mad About Brows palette is available from 1st August from billiondollarbrows.co.nz, specialist brow bars and beauty clinics throughout New Zealand, retailing for $59. For international readers, visit billiondollarbrows.com/worldwide for local stockists.

Have you tried anything by Billion Dollar Brows? I hadn’t until I received this, although I had been wanting to after my friend Kelsy wrote a guest post on here and featured their Universal Brow Pencil. There were a couple of other BDB goodies that we were given, so keep an eye out here for more reviews in the future! Until then remember this: “Beautiful brows are a right, not a privilege” – these were wise words from Natalie.
