April empties part one

The beauty of being on a no-buy is that I’ve been using up lots of products! I’ve been making a concerted effort to finish as many things as possible, and it’s been working well. During April I finished two full size products, a deluxe sample, as well as a few samples, which I was very impressed by. Especially the fact I finished a lipstick – that has NEVER happened to me before! Here’s what I finished, and I’m going to be splitting this post into two, since otherwise it’d be ridiculously long. I’ll link the second post once it’s up, later in the week.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Original

I couldn’t remember how long ago I bought this, so I checked my Sephora account, and it was March 2013! I couldn’t believe it took me two years to finish it, but that really goes to show how long it lasts when you only need a small amount. This is a 3.7 ml (0.13 oz) deluxe sample/ mini size, so the full size would last even longer. I absolutely love this product, and have raved about it since my very first post on here. It stops my shadows from creasing, and makes them wear so much longer. Urban Decay isn’t stocked in New Zealand but you can order it from Beauty Bay, or ship from Sephora via YouShop or similar services.

Repurchase? I already have another deluxe sample size, although it is the anti-aging variety. I got it in a set, I wasn’t specifically out for anti-aging eyeshadow primer, as if that would work!

Utena Puresa Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask

My friend brought back a box of these from Japan for me, and neither of us had any idea what was in them. I posted a picture on instagram and the blogger behind Auxillary Beauty commented, telling me it was a hyaluronic acid mask with rose scent. Hyaluronic Acid is very moisturising, and my skin felt great after using these. I hadn’t used a sheet mask before, and I sent some hilarious snapchats to my friends of me wearing one.

Repurchase? I might try and find them at Daiso or Japan Mart!

L’Oreal Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturiser

I got this sample with a magazine and decided to give it a try seeing as there was a lot of hype when the L’Oreal Skin Perfection range came out. It was quite nice, nothing ground breaking but nothing terrible either. However, I prefer to use a day moisturiser with sunscreen in it, and I’m currently loving the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel SPF 15 so I can’t see myself buying this any time soon.

(Re)purchase? No.

Essenza Fuss Free Naturals Face Cleansing Wipes  – Cleanse and Refresh

Some people think face wipes are face wipes, and there’s not much in it. Well, I disagree. Some burn my eyes, some burn my face, others don’t get makeup off very well, and the list goes on. I received these in my Lust Have It subscription box, and really loved them. One side is textured to help removing makeup, and the other is smooth to finish off with. They remove everything so well, although I still follow up with a cleanser as I don’t like the feeling of my skin after using only a wipe. These have Green Tea and Vitamin C but at the end of the ingredients list so I’m not kidding myself that they have any effect.

Repurchase? I already have a backup, of the Cleanse and Exfoliate variety from this brand.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them – were you nodding or shaking your head as you read my opinions? I’m always interested in hearing what other people think about things I’ve tried. Stay tuned for part two of this post, coming later in the week.

  • I used up the same pack of wipes this month! I really liked them, and want to get my hands on some more. Do you know if they sell them anywhere in NZ?

  • where do you buy those makeup wipes lena? Two different textures sounds very tempting.

  • Sophie ♥

I’ve tried the Urban Decay Primer Potion but didn’t get on with it sadly. My lids are so prone to creasing eyeshadows though :(. My fave eye primer is the Nars one.

    • That’s a shame! Mine don’t tend to crease but more just disappear somehow. I’ve never tried the Nars one but I’ve heard good things.
